Liang Yang

Postdoctoral Fellows

Liang finished his Ph.D. major in Bioinformatics in 2008 with Prof. Jun Yu at Zhejiang University, China. He is currently working on project in the context of evolutionary rates, gene expression and network evolution in plant genomes. His research interests focus primarily on understanding the dynamics and interactions of the mechanisms behind genome evolution: 1) the relationship between genome structure, evolution and gene function; 2) the evolution mechanisms on the organization and regulation of the molecular network in a biological system; 3) the evolution of gene expression patterns between species and the evolution of cis-regulatory modules and gene networks. In his spare time, Liang is an enthusiastic NBA fan. His favorite stars are Kobe Bryant and Yao Ming. He has realized his dream to watch Laker's game at Staples Center.
